Story Outline;

Although the title clearly states that it is a road Hindi movie (NH stands for National Highway). The movie revolves around the common crime of honor killings- as much part of India as it of Pakistan-and when the lead pair gets involved in it somehow; the story might take place on one road during one particular night but trust me: it is a hell of a ride. Both Meera (Anushka Sharma) and Arjun (Neil Bhoopalam) do not know what they are getting into when they enter the highway but the audience knows that something is about to happen-and it does.

From murder to near death experience, the lead pair goes from one place to another in search of help: being hunted at times and hunting on other occasions. The director Navdeep Singh must be credited for bringing out the best from actors-Anushka Sharma carries the whole film on her shoulders as she transform from a city girl into a damsel in distress and finally into an entirely different person.Ek Paheli Leela Free download

Whereas her onscreen hubby played by Neil Bhoopalam convinced you as the loser who wants to impress his wife anyway he can. There is Deepti Naval in a powerful role as well and she hardly disappoints: neither does Darshan Kumar as the antagonist. There comes a time in the film when the script will drag but that is not the case because writer Sudip Sharma has crafted a gem here. If the village chef’s daughter says she doesn’t have the hearing aid even when she does have it, it has a point the action sequence are unconventional as well and instead of the hand-to-hand combat, there are iron roads breaking bodies, gun shots killing people and woman getting punched. Yes the film seems closer to a TV drama than a film but the locations the sound quality and the ambience of cinema makes it better.

Mrs. Brown learns that Paddington –a name she coined for him back at the train station- is quite literally, a rare bear and helps him to connect with his past in order to give him emotional grounding. Along the way, Millicent the taxidermist (Kidman) finds out about Paddington’s rare breed and makes it her mission to turn him into her latest specimen, stuffed with sawdust and preserved for posterity. Four days Fashion week is exhibit in the city of lights Karachi. Local designers to welcomed from all over Pakistan under one roof to exhibit their most happening spring/summer collections. Nida Azwer opened the first day with “French Trellis” collection that inspiration from French Architecture and compromised of some beautifully established pieces in dull corals, grays and muddy nudes. Second group of rising talent s Rimsha Shakir, Hassan Riaz, Shehza Azhar and Momal Zia for a helpful grant from Bank Alfalah to help them get closer to achieving their goals. Next up was Lala Textiles with its ‘Electric Summer’ a collection that everything the label is synonymous with attractive digital prints to-die for floral designs and full of colours. Sania Maskatiya ended the first act show by paying homage to the craft of tailoring with both expolaritve and sensitivity and flamboyance with her luxury prêt collection, ‘Khayat-The Tailor.  FNK Asia started act two with powerful kick and the elegant net skirts were a sight for the soar eyes. Madiha Raza showcased ‘Handmade’ up next depicting her own version of crazy and funky design with jewellery by Shehzaday and styling by Warda Saleem. The Maheen Khan was the showstopper for her collection. The day came to end with Sadaf Malaterre’s dull collection. TDAP'S Fashion Extraveganza

The second day is started with more and much energy then day first. Amir Adnan starting with ‘Shahzaday’ a beautiful collection of sherwanis, printed scraves and all sorts of hand embroidery on men’s formal collection. Sanam Chaudhary followed with her subtle floral prints that although good to look at resembled Shehla Chatoor’s collection from FPW’ 14, Saphire, Elan and other such prints.  Or Jafferjees presented next elaborate collection of bags that model look super chic in spring/summer casuals. The most fun presentation of the night, Abdul Samad had Zurrain Imam, Hassan Rizvi and Shehzad Roy walk his creative cuts. 

. Zaheer Abbas was up up next with best collection of the night with the breathtaking combo of white and gold. A team of four, Caanchi and Lugari, presented their not-so-interactive or innovative designs that still managed to make the men look dapper! Fahad Hussain ended the second day with his elaborate head pieces.Imam Ahmed started the third day with a monotone collection and a surprising twist of fur every now and then. Next came the ever young and fun Levi’s. The collection was too casuals comprising of jeans wear with a pop of colours here and there typical of the brand for which the handsome Wasim Akram was the showstopper. Somal Halepoto’s ‘Colorgaglam 2015’ seemed to have a bit of residual ideas from her last display at PBCW 2014 in Lahore, pink, yellow and green with a lot of embellished designing is the right way to sum it up. Yousuf Bashir Qureshi is better known by YBQ drew inspiration from the lives of Sachal Sarmast, Shahbaz Qalandar in displaying a collection based on Sufism. The amazing HYS was the showstopper for YQB. The second act was started with Wardha Saleems’ showcase for which music and jewellery was done by one other then ace photographer Tapu Javeri. The ‘Lotus Song’ was the pastels designed in sequins established in lots of flowers.

The day four is started with Monara by Sonya Batla that had two major colour tones, green and blue and lots of rope, pearl and sea shell accessories. The collection was an insight to Karachi for which Ayesha Tammy Haq was the showstopper. Maliha Chaudhary represented Daaman with a modern, minimalist and fresh take on fusion white and navy blue as the primary colours  and contained some really chic crop tops paired with straight pants. Prêt Princess Zara Shahjahan celebrated fashion, fusion and all that’s fun in pastel colour palettes through ruffles and pleated skirts coupled with traditional mirror handwork on crop tops. Fashion connoisseur Deepak Perwani opened the second act with La Dolce Vita which was all about models rocked the French maiden look with flowers decorating their manes, donning floral prints on scraves and maxi. The best surprise, however remined his showstopper Pooja Bhatt and Ali Azmat, Aamna Aqeel was next with a collection full of pearl, gold and sequin embroidery on a pastel colour scheme, cigarette pants and poncho tops. Shamaeel Ansari gave the four-day fashion extravaganza the grand finale it truly deserved with her beautifully crafted designs inspired by Royal Hali carpets, in a red-maroon, purple-magenta theme.

Music Vamala by Champs

MUSIC

VAMALA by Champs are siblings Michael and David Champion who hail from the lsle of White. This album is the successor to last year’s debut releases, Down Like Gold.  Opening with hunting vocals and a similar piano backing, desire is certainly an accurate representation of a record that is anything but commercial pop. The melodies throughout the album are enchanting though, with running moving along in a pleasant manner. Music of Mice & Men Restoring Force Forever Be Upstanding At The Door is based on a quaint acoustic guitar piece, while the mid-tempo 3000 Miles is engrossing from the first listen. The title track is also worthy of note, whilst Blood shimmers beautifully both in the chiming guitars and shining vocal performance. It is unlikely that Vamala will receive wide exposure and mainstream success, but anyone who takes the time to investigate the release will find a collection of mature and organic pop songs that are well crafted and enticing. For listen please click here

The movie is full of shocks if you ask me. The first shock is that it does not have Ranbir Kapoor in a dynamic role as promised in the credits. In fact he is sprinkled around in the film like a guest appearance, a role that anyone could have done. Secondly, it feature Arjun Rampal as the main lead as a vibrant writer/director Kabir Grewal who dons a hat when he is writing a script, makes money from heist films and has dumped 22 girlfriends. The third shocker is that by the time the film within the film is released and is a success, the director tells his assistant I don’t know how this film got made; dude that was exactly what I was thinking. The Arjun Rampal is looking good and handsome on big screen, but not worth he cannot act. He fails to act in Roy as well and Jacqueline Fernandez seemed to act better than him; as for Ranbir Kapoor. In this movie the Ranbir Kapoor’s character of a thief happens in but you can guesses that he was there in pieces, small ones too.

The movie has memorable songs: Jacqueline Fernandez looks amazing in every frame; the jewellery she dons, the makeup. Her clothing and even her improved acting skills impress but are that enough to make a film successful. But the film start no one knows what is happening when the interval comes and that is exactly the case when the film is about to end. The director Vikramjit Singh thoughts that  the viewers were as intelligent as he was but that’s where he was wrong; the viewers pay to watch the movie and he gets paid to make one.
